Castine Consulting LLC (“Castine”) uses due diligence  information to support your clients and prospects with their initial and ongoing due diligence process. This data collection is purely voluntary. Your use of this site and providing of the requested information indicates your acceptance of this notice.

Once you choose to provide us with information, you can be assured that it will only be used to support your relationship with your clients and prospects. We take seriously the trust you place in us. Castine will not sell, rent or lease your identifiable information to others.

This privacy statement covers identifiable information, as defined as information that a typical person could use to identify your firm. Anonymous aggregated information is data collected and summarized for statistical and reporting purposes for users of Castine’s services.

What we collect 

Firm Due Diligence Information

When you use our site, you grant us permission to collect detailed due diligence answers based on Castine’s Universal Due Diligence Questionnaire (UDDQ) as well as questions posed to your firm directly – and privately – by your customers and prospects. These “client-specific” due diligence questions are referred to as “CDDQ” answers. 

Personal Data

Castine only collects your name, title, and contact information so your clients and prospects can reach you and identify that you were the party completing the UDDQ/CDDQ.  The types of personal information you provide to us on this site pages may include name, address, phone, e-mail address, user IDs and passwords. Should you use the premium version of The Telescope, we may also collect billing information, transaction, credit card information and contact preferences.

Site Improvement Information 

To personalize our web sites, services or communications and improve our products and services, we may collect data including the pages visited on our sites, unique URLs visited within the sites, browser type and IP address. Most anonymous data is collected via cookies or other analysis technologies. Our web pages use cookies and other technologies for data analysis and personalization services. 

Castine does not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13 and Castine products and services do not target information to children under 13. Castine is committed to protecting the privacy needs of children and we encourage parents to take an active role in their child's on-line activities and interests. 

How we use it 

Castine collects your information to provide its details solely to your clients and prospects. You can control who sees your information by allowing or disallowing users from seeing your information. Occasionally we may also use your information on an anonymous and aggregated basis to provide summary reporting to Castine personnel or to our clients. Credit card information is used only for payment processing and fraud prevention, and is not used for other purposes.

Who we share it with 

Your Personal Data and Your Firm's Identifiable Data

Data you enter is only viewed by your clients and prospects, based on your privacy and invitation settings. Your data is also available to Castine personnel for diagnostic and development purposes.

Castine will not sell, rent, or lease your personally identifiable information to others. Castine will not share your personal information with any unrelated third party company unless you give your permission. Castine shares customer information across Castine business entities as needed to conduct ongoing business and relationship management. Castine will not share personal information with any other third parties without your permission unless required by law enforcement action or subpoena.

Onward Transfer 

Personal data given to Castine may be transferred across state and country borders for the purposes of data consolidation, storage and simplified customer information management.

Security 

Castine is committed to ensuring the security of your information. To prevent unauthorized access or disclosure, maintain data accuracy and ensure the appropriate use of the information, Castine has in place appropriate physical, managerial procedures to safeguard the information we collect. We use SSL encryption when collecting or transferring sensitive data such as credit card information. Credit card numbers are only used for processing payment and are not used for other purposes.
